Our Fall Prevention Products include:
- Grab Bars - Using a grab bar as a balance aid can substantially reduce the risk of falling. We recommend grab bars at all frequently used entryways to your home.
- Slip strips on exterior stairs - In inclement weather, slippery front steps can present a hazard, even with grab bars and railings in place. Our non-skid tread strips provide an easy, economical way to help prevent slips and falls, and help meet OSHA and ADA requirements.
- Floor transition thresholds - In addition to presenting a trip hazard, uneven transitions from one room to the next can make it difficult for a person to navigate when using a walker or wheelchair. Our floor transition reducers eliminate this problem allowing for free and easy movement throughout the home.
- Handrails - People with low vision or who have limited balance may fall at the top or bottom of the stairs because they have no railing to hold onto as they make the transition from the steps to the landing. If you are faced with one of these concerns, be aware that The ADA recommends instaling handrails which extend beyond the top and bottom of stairs.
- Railings - Railings offer support, which can be integral in preventing falls. Unless other entryway assistance measures such as a ramp are in place, all frequently used entrances to the home should be equipped with a sturdy railing.
- Exterior Motion Sensor Lights - Motion sensor lights can be directed to illuminate your primary entryway, minimizing potential trip hazards due to poor visibility.
- Programmable Lighting System - Programmable lighting systems give you the ability to control your lighting from a central keypad in your home. Used properly, these will also eliminate the need to ever walk into a darkened home and minimize trip hazards resulting from poor visibility.
- Emergency Power Failure Light - Night Light /Flashlight — These multi-purpose plug-in lights not only act as standard nightlights day to day illuminating walkways and high occupancy areas, they also provide long lasting emergency lighting in the event of a power outage.
